MP Udayanraje Bhosale visits Satara mosque which was attacked

Rajya Sabha MP Udayanraje Bhosale, who visited the mosque in Satara’s Pusesavali village where one person died and several others were injured in a communal clash on Sunday night, said he was “deeply pained” by the incident and wondered who was behind the polarisation in the region.

Bhosale, a descendent of the Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji, visited the village early on Monday. “I find it very upsetting that (this happened in the land of) Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who made space for all religions. Today if somebody is doing something for selfish reasons, it is wrong,” said Bhosale, who joined the BJP in 2019 after quitting the NCP
